Huawei is Commercially Launching its Smartphones in Pakistan by the End of This Year

Huawei is completed all setting to launch its smartphones in Pakistan by the end of this year 2011, long before the rise of 3G services in the country, Nadeem Aslam Malik, Director of Business Enterprises Huawei Pakistan, he said in an exclusive interview with Mr. Malik said ProPakistani Huawei brand smartphone will be affordable to customers ranging from Rs 12,000 to 25,000 Pakistani rupees, with maximum features and applications for mobile users either in GSM or 3G networks .

Huawei brands have been gaining reputation with successful local and regional markets that deal in low-cost games and high-end, he said. The low-cost terminals have received excellent business smartphone in partnership with its cellular partners, including Ufone and Zong.

Currently, the company is working on marketing channels and local phone market to compete with different brands and price competition interesting offers, Malik added.

Huawei specializes in low-cost smartphones powered by Google Android operating system and Windows platform.

Huawei has been conducting its operations for two mainstream mobile operators in the case of construction of infrastructure and the availability of terminals for most customers.

Malik said 3G is likely to hit Pakistan next year after the completion of regulatory affairs, especially in relation to the deployment of 3G auction policy of licenses to cellular operators.

Network providers such as Huawei will deploy physical infrastructure for 3G mobile operators a minimum of three months once given the green light from the partners and the regulator said. The investment in 3G is undoubtedly important, but its profit when it comes to ability level and range of services by operators.

"We have completed our task to the network physical deployment of 3G in Pakistan and is ready to begin operations with plans for cellular operator partners," said Director of Huawei.

Ufone Mobilink and the two major operators, and have allowed their 3G networks in the last two years with Huawei able to deploy 3G technology in major cities of the first phase, he said.

"I believe that cellular operators are reluctant to go for 3G technology, but are interested in 4G, which is an advanced technology. However, Pakistan is not the 4G or LTE market, because the service goes beyond the accessibility of customers compared to 3G, "he added.

Also note that changing the 3G to 4G network is easy, fast, affordable and involves many technical problems and complications, therefore, no need of another major investment in infrastructure 4G as operators is adequate to start.
