Nokia and Microsoft announced today the signing of a definitive agreement for a partnership that will lead to a new global mobile ecosystem, the use of highly complementary assets of both companies. Completed ahead of schedule, the final agreement is consistent with the joint announcement made on 11 February.
Besides the acceptance of the terms of their partnership, including joint contributions to the development of new ecosystem, Nokia and Microsoft also announced significant progress in the development of the first products incorporating Windows Nokia Phone. With hundreds of people already involved in joint engineering efforts, companies are collaborating on a portfolio of new Nokia devices.
Nokia has also begun to carry the key applications and services to run on Windows Phone and joint outreach has begun third-party developers of applications.
