Manville said that the new management of IT is a provider of services inside the company. As such, the data center is not only of servers that provide, but rather seeks to provide computer services.
"The new facility is built to be a data center multi-tenant," Manville said. "Cisco has several different internal business as WebEx and Linksys and this data center also aims to manage IT skills of traditional ERP."
The data center Allen - as expected - to use its own network equipment from Cisco, including what Manville referred to as a "large number" of Nexus 7000 and Catalyst 6500. The application servers will all run on the Cisco platform UCS. Manville said that there will be components of Cisco storage partners EMC and NetApp Allen used in the installation.
From a central data management, Cisco is using multiple tools and construction process information.
"One of the things we're working on now, is to be the incorporation of new acquisitions in our tag management environment," said Manville. "Within 9 to 12 months we can say we're running into a pile of Cisco for the cloud computing environment."
