David Dhawan film Rascals is an Excellent Joy Film for the year. The film has won the third largest opening for the year, after Salman Khan prepared and bodyguard.
The comedy film, which stars Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgn, Kangna Ranaut, Lisa and Arjun Rampal Haydon made a good deal on the day of its release, October 6, and is still doing well at the box office.
The film has obtained a collection of R 8.63 million rupees in the first day itself, making it the third highest in 2011.
This despite a limited release and low prices compared to the ticket on the weekends. Trade experts, if the tickets were priced at the regular rate, the movie might have grossed higher, and perhaps even across R 11 crore in the first day.

Meanwhile, Dhawan is all praise for his lead actor Sanjay Dutt. "Sanjay is like an open book. Do not hide anything. He is the most simple I've seen. I started my career with him 20 years ago as director and he remains the same. There is no change in him," says Dhawan, who first worked with him on Taaqatwar in 1989. About Ajay says, "He appears as a very serious person actually is not. He is a very simple person.
