Pakistani Teachers Won the Jordans Education Forum

 Two teachers in Pakistan, a total of 200 education professionals from over 25 countries in the region have won the regional competition of Microsoft's "Middle East and Africa Regional Forum on Educational Innovation," recently held in Aqaba, Jordan.

Educational Innovation Forum Microsoft focuses on innovative approaches that will ultimately improve learning outcomes of education systems worldwide.

Teachers are initially selected from different countries on the basis of their teaching innovations to compete in regional events. After winning the regional competition, these teachers are qualified to global competition.


In the Middle East and Africa Regional Innovative Teachers Education Forum competed to receive one of the twelve awards of educational innovation in four main categories at the regional level. The winning group consisted representing Tahmeena Raees Pakistan, Islam and Human Kiran Imran School System of the roots.

In early August, Pakistan announced the results of competition at the country from which the winners participated in the regional round of Middle East and Africa.

I congratulate the Winners of Pakistan. They have shown that technology is an important factor in education and have supported the students acquire the skills necessary to thrive in the 21st century. "

Delighted with this achievement Tehmeena Raees said: "We have to think outside the box to meet the needs of information technology and education in Pakistan. I am sure that all successful projects will go a long way in helping students take advantage of information technology and communication for the benefit of society. Microsoft has done a great job of giving us this platform. "

Besides event included workshops and an exhibition of all participating schools and teacher projects. A number of different awards for outstanding projects in the different categories were also awarded to participants by an international jury of experts in education. The winners of this round have been selected to attend the Alliance for Global Education Forum to be held in Washington DC on 07 November 2011 - November 10, 2011.

As part of the Educational Innovation Forum (IEF), Microsoft has two competitions each year: Innovative Schools Program and the Innovative Teachers Forum. Local Microsoft offices worldwide organize forums in their respective countries and the winners will compete at regional level.

The regional winners then go to participate in the Global Forum for Innovative Education in winning the masters of the regional forums and innovative schools selected from around the world show case their projects. Projects are evaluated on the basis of teacher-student engagement, innovation and content, and three major projects for each of these categories have been declared.
