The Indian authorities have a cap per day limit for sending SMS, to discourage telemarketing and spam text messages,

According to new regulations passed by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, a mobile subscriber can not send more than 100 SMS messages a day. Movement is probably a relief for millions of mobile phone users received unwanted text messages every day.

Experts say this can not completely eliminate the commercial and other spam messages, however, largely deter vendors send unlimited text messages from their mobile devices.

Just like India, Pakistan mobile phone subscribers are bearing the brunt of it unsolicited text messages from vendors and cell phone companies alike.

On average, a user's prepaid mobile phone receives 06. 08 promotional messages from cell phone companies, and other marketing messages 5.7. This rate of spam messages received is specifically high for mobile phone users in major cities.
